To warm up
Session Three - Venture Out
Dream before life becomes only logistics
Shared dreams give a couple something to move toward. They do not need to be dramatic. A peaceful home, a weekly meal with friends, freedom from debt, a growing prayer life, meaningful work, or a yearly adventure can all express the life God is asking you to build.
Venture Out is not a demand to agree on every detail. It is an invitation to name what matters, understand what each dream represents, and choose a faithful first step.
“Write down the revelation and make it plain.”
Habakkuk 2:2 (NIV)
What quality do I hope describes our marriage ten years from now?
Watch - Venture Out

Listen for the difference between consuming experiences and building a shared life with curiosity, purpose, and courage.
Compact Mission Portrait
Know what guides each person
The full Mission Portrait experience lives in the INVEST app. This compact paper version preserves the conversation even when you want to stay off your phones. Complete it individually before comparing.
Watch - Mission Portrait

Bill and Stephanie’s story shows why purpose belongs in a marriage conversation. Listen for what changes when a couple becomes curious about each person’s God-given design instead of competing with it.
CORE VALUES - three qualities I want to embody
VISION - the future I feel drawn toward
MISSION - how I hope my life serves others
ANCHOR - a Scripture, phrase, or image that guides me
What I most appreciate about the purpose I see in you
One practical way I can support your calling without losing our shared life
DREAM Map - Our Shared Horizon
Do not try to fill every space perfectly. Write one honest hope in the areas that matter most now. The app can hold a fuller DREAM Map and help you revisit it over time.

Money Before Marriage
Unity begins with the real numbers
Money disagreements are often about more than math. Money can represent safety, freedom, generosity, control, status, fear, or family loyalty. Financial unity begins when nothing important is hidden and both people understand the plan.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:21 (NIV)
- What did money mean in each of our homes growing up?
- What income, debt, savings, recurring expense, giving commitment, or financial obligation must be fully disclosed before the wedding?
- How will we decide what is personal, what is shared, and what requires agreement?
- What does generosity look like in our first year?
- When will we hold our first monthly money meeting?
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
One money strength I see in you
One financial concern we need to address as teammates
Our First Adventure
Something meaningful or fun we want to do in our first 90 days
How we will protect time and money for it
Go Deeper — optional
For couples who want to linger. Skip it if you’d rather keep things light.
- Which dream carries the most meaning beneath the surface?
- Where do our timelines differ, and what would patient unity look like?
- What financial fear is hardest for me to admit?
- How can our marriage bless people beyond us?
